Glossier Makeup Faves

Updated: Jan 28, 2020

Time for a part 2! One of the things I love about Glossier is its 'skin first' approach, which is why I published my skincare faves before my makeup faves.

I'll be honest, I've tried some Glossier makeup up products that I did NOT like (*cough cough* lidstar), and I haven't touched the PLAY line because what the heck was that... But there are a couple of products that are staples in my makeup bag. Namely, the lash slick, the perfecting skin tint and the cloud paint.

Here are the makeup products that I have personally tried, and my honest review of them. Click on the names of the products to learn more about them from Glossier itself.

Lash Slick

The lash slick is an incredibly lengthening mascara. It's personally the look that I love, but if you're more into a lot of volume, this might not be the mascara for you. My only complaint is that a tube doesn't seem to last me very long (maybe a month of regular, every day use) but it's a very good mascara and I highly recommend.

Perfecting Skin Tint

We LOVE a natural look. Use this for the 'no-makeup' makeup look. What I love about the skin tint is that it doesn't cover any of my freckles, but it helps to even out my skin tone and gives me a tiny bit of coverage so I feel put together. I wear this to work, I wear it on the weekends... just kidding, as if I wear makeup on the weekends. A must-try.

Stretch Concealer

It's creamy, it's bendable, it's very nice. I use this in combination with the perfecting skin tint - the dream team. It's creamy and thick, but not cakey and gives very natural looking coverage. A little goes a long way, and this product seems to last forever for me. I use it mainly to cover up any blemishes or extra redness.

Lip Gloss

Ok this lip gloss is $$$ but it's so worth it. This is a recent favourite of mine, but I see it becoming a staple. It's glossy and shiny but not sticky. It also leaves my lips feeling hydrated where as most other lip glosses do NOTHING for my lips other than make them look good for like 10 minutes, and then they are as dry as the Sahara desert. It looks really nice over the Generation G lipstick.

Cloud Paint

I think this is my favourite Glossier makeup product. My fave shade is 'Dusk' which is a brownish, mauvey nude. I have yet to come across a product that even comes close to the cloud paint. It's very blendable, and gives you such a natural, glowy, flush look. It's amazing in warm climates (I wore it all the time in Mexico last November!). It also lasts a long time because you literally need 1 dot on each cheek.

Generation G

A lipstick that's.... hydrating? Unheard of! It's sheer so it gives just a hint of colour. This lipstick is so good for people who don't like lipstick. The shades are stunning and will look different on everyone because it enhances rather than covers up your natural lip colour. My favourite shades are 'Like' and 'Cake'.
